Job Description  \n\nWe are looking for an experienced Housing Solutions Officer with a solid background in housing and social services within Bedfordshire. This role involves working with clients who have been supported to move into accommodation in the Private Rented Sector. The successful candidate must be able to work 4-5 days per week in Bedfordshire and visit clients at home.

A full clean driving license and access to personal transport are essential.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nProvide tenancy sustainment support by conducting periodic check-ins (e.g., at 3 and 6 months) with clients who have moved into Private Rented Sector accommodation.\n\t\nEncourage clients to self-manage their tenancies while remaining accessible for support.\n\t\nCheck in with landlords and agents to review rent accounts, tenancy conduct, and clients' wellbeing.\n\nQualifications – Essential and Desired Skills:\n\nGCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.\n\t\nRelevant professional qualifications and experience.\n\t\nAdvanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), social media, and CRM systems.\n\t\nA full clean driving license and personal transport.\n\nCriteria for Shortlisting - Ideal Candidate Profile:\n\nKnowledge of housing law to effectively support clients and uphold legal standards.\n\t\nUnderstanding of housing law and national policies related to homelessness, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.\n\t\nIn-depth knowledge of homelessness legislation, case law, and Codes of Guidance.\n\t\nFamiliarity with the Local Authority's obligations towards asylum seekers.\n\t\nStrong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to explain issues clearly, objectively, and in a personable manner.\n\t\nExcellent interpersonal skills, including active listening, advocacy, and negotiation.\n\t\nUnderstanding of recent relevant legislation and government proposals, such as the Modernisation Agenda, Best Value, and Human Rights.\n\t\nAwareness of equal opportunities policies and their practical application.\n\t\nKnowledge and Understanding of current housing issues.\n\t\nExperience in dealing with vulnerable customers.\n\t\nExperience in conducting homeless assessments.\n\t\nUnderstanding of risk assessments and lone working policies.\n\nCompliance Requirements \n\nFull clean driving licence and own transport\n\t\nDBS check – enhanced – adults' and children's.   \n\t\nWillingness to participate in the mandatory Right to Work Checks as part of the pre-screening application process.\n\nDiamond Blaque Group, a leading public-sector provider, acts as the employment business for this vacancy.
