Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils are looking for a Mechanical Domestic Heating Manager to join our team based in Ipswich, Suffolk. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of £45,091 - £52,413 per annum (pro rata for part time).\n\nThis role is open to full time, part time, and job share applications, all of which will be assessed equally.\n\nJoin our team\n\nWe are looking for a Mechanical Domestic Heating Manager to join our Compliance Team.\n\nIf you share our values and you are motivated to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities, we would love to hear from you.\n\nAbout the role\n\nReporting to the Compliance Manager you will lead on the operational delivery of the domestic mechanical heating service across our housing assets. \n\nThe Compliance Team oversee the management and maintenance of the key compliance areas of gas, electrical, asbestos, fire, lifts and water hygiene as well as playing a pivotal role in the management of damp and mould. \n\nYou will ensure that contractors deliver their service in accordance with contractual requirements. \n\nYou will also ensure that gas, oil, ASHP and solid fuel servicing is undertaken to domestic assets, including detector testing and sealed system servicing so that we meet our statutory and regulatory obligations.\n\nAbout you\n\nWe are looking for an experienced professional, with a housing background, who has worked with all forms of heating types to domestic properties to lead our operational delivery across our housing assets.\n\nTo be successful, you will:\n\nhold an HNC in mechanical engineering or Building Construction / Building Surveying or a related subject\n\t\nbe a Member of Gas Safe and have Gas Safe registration \n\t\npossess or be willing to study for an IOSH Managing Safely certificate and Level 4 VRQ in compliance for housing\n\nYou will be required to make site visits in a large rural area, so access to personal transport and a valid driving license will be a necessity.\n\nAbout us\n\nAt Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils we are passionate about building communities that people want to live, work, visit and invest in.\n\nWe serve around 200,000 residents across our two districts and are well known for our collaboration and partnership working across public, private and voluntary sectors.\n\nWe believe that the heart of Suffolk is an incredibly special place to live and work, with:\n\n60 conservation areas\n\t\ntwo National Landscapes\n\t\nmany picturesque market towns\n\nIt is no surprise we are ranked among the top 50 places to live in the UK (United Kingdom).\n\nBenefits\n\nWe offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:\n\nGenerous leave entitlement (26 days a year, rising to 31 days after 5 years).\n\t\nCompetitive Local Government Pension Scheme.\n\t\nWellbeing Support and Employee Assistance Programs.\n\t\nPrivate Health Care Options.\n\t\nElectric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Scheme.\n\t\nPaid volunteering days.\n\t\nFlexible and hybrid working arrangements (Business needs permitting).\n\t\nGreat learning and development opportunities.\n\nOur ways of working\n\nWe believe work is what we do, not just where we go.\n\nWe work in a hybrid way, with a mix of office, home, and remote based working (Business need permitting).
